QR codes

Hello its Josh and Jack here. We have been learning about pirates.

Last week on Friday Allanah came with her Ipod touch and Ipad2 to room2 for us to use. We took turns using the Ipod on a treasure hunt around the school. We used QR codes for clues. QR stands for quick response codes. The QR codes are things that you scan with a special app and it brings up something that it is programmed to take you to.

Allanah hid some QR codes around the school grounds. Allanah split the class up into groups of three and each group had a go with her ipod touch's QR scanning app. Each group had to go around the school scanning these codes witch brought up a clue. But every time we came to a code we had to take a photo to prove that we've been there.

Afterwards we went on her ipad 2. We played a pirate game, first off you had to free pirate Jack who was hung up by his foot. then you had to go around an island finding items to help you in other places around the island and at the end you found the treasure!!!

After every one had had a go Allanah brought out her treasure chest filled with treasure...
As she opened up the chest everybody leaned in for a closer look, the treasure was mini crunchy bars!
